Welcome to CCSD School Choice

Every school-aged child in Charleston County is assigned to a neighborhood school based on their grade level and home address.

Additionally, CCSD offers a variety of specialized programs, magnet schools, and charter schools that students can apply to attend by choice. 

The School Choice Office provides the following services:
 

Informs families about the variety of choice schools and programs beyond their zoned school, highlighting what each has to offer, and the application priorities for each.

Guides families through the school choice application process

Maintains a dedicated support line and email account to promptly respond to questions

Hosts on-site and virtual support events for interested families

Collaborates with schools and other departments to coordinate criteria-school testing and other events for applicants
